So you want me to not support my LGS and buy from you via the internet and save money at a 25% discount. How are you different from Wal-Mart and Amazon??

Uh, no. I want you to support *any* LGS instead of Wal-Mart. It can be me as I *am* a real gaming store but I'd be happy if everyone supported their LGS. It doesn't have to be local as long as it's a store that actually cares about gaming and the future of gaming.

I'm doing 25% off because I want to try to give at least something back to my fellow gamers. I can't match 40% since that's pretty much what I pay for WotC books and I still have to pay rent and utilities.

You're not. :)

Personally, I spread the love around. I have ordered from ENworld, your store, amazon.com, B&N and my FLGS. It all depends on my finances on any particular month.

My philosophy exactly. Support the local places and the "true" hobby shops, but there are times when I will also order from one of the large clearing houses on the internet. For example, buy.com offering the Epic Level Handbook for $12. Sorry, but I'm all over that. :)

As for me, I'm tentatively getting back into gaming. Mostly used GURPS stuff, but a few WOTC books. I'm waiting until I've got a steady job (rather than a 3-month contract; two months in, and I finally got paid for the first two months :D ) before starting back into d20. And THIS time, I'm definitely picking-and-choosing. No more $300-per-month for me! And I'm definitely buying PDFs from SVGames, rather than trying to pick up OOP TSR/WOTC books...

I generally buy from Amazon (no FLGS for me: the one in town went out of business, but had long ago converted to Warhammer, CCGs, comics, and anime; and the one in the next town seems to be going the same route) and eBay (badmike when I can help it, but anyone with a great rep, accepts credit cards through paypal, and doesn't gouge on S&H in a crunch).

When I can afford it again, I will, as always, toss my in-print d20 orders Talon's way, but probably buy GURPS and WOTC from amazon.

And I'm definitely going to make sure I don't end up with another 28 boxes of RPG stuff again!

Apparently, walmart.com has the best deals on all of these books.

When I was comparing prices, it seemed that, with S&H, it cost about the same as amazon's ship-by-slowest-means-possible free S&H. Since I'm in no hurry, I decided on amazon.

Well I do not know if it was just me but I have had very quick turn around on Anazon's ship by slowest means possible. I got all of my products 2-3 days from ordering..

So I ordered from Amazon. I just had to I could not turn away from the price. But I order enough from my LGS to help their bottom line.

Oddly, I've had just the opposite luck with Amazon, at least with pre-orders. If it's in-stock I usually get it quick regardless of shipping method, but I've had to wait as much as three weeks after release date for some of my Amazon pre-orders. One person, of course, is hardly a representative sample.

I've actually taken to ordering more from buy.com than from Amazon, lately -- haven't had the slow pre-orders, plus their base prices are usually lower than Amazon by about 10%.

For 3.5 books, buy.com is selling at $18.86 -- but you have to pay shipping since they're not in stock, which makes the prices comparable to Amazon and Walmart in the end. Overall it looks like Walmart is the cheapest deal, but I've had no experience ordering from them before.

I don't know if this is starting to get funny, or really sad :D

Drawmack: please look up what "apathetic" means, which is the SECOND definition JoeBlank posted up.

My bad, twice. However, how can anyone call me apothetic without knowing my situation or intent. Boy that takes a level of arrogance huh? Still don't think I'll be frequenting a store with management that judges me based on where I shop without even bothering to ask why I shop there.

Please let this drop. Talon was speaking in generalities. His was not trying to make you look bad personally.
