Homebrew Keep on the North West Borderlands

I should admit that I haven't read KotB in decades, so any and all reminders are welcome. :-)

Mad Hermit? Adam (from Northern Exposure) has it covered.

Hmm, have to think about the other encounters.

But re. sasquatch - I'm sure there's stats for them in many games. Or you can use bugbears.

I always thought of the Sasquatch and Yeti as two variations of the same thing. Like a brown bear vs a polar bear.
Bugbears is good, since they're already around in most versions of the adventure. And "wild men of the woods" is, frankly, more identity than they get in most D&D eras or settings.
There are also a lot of “men going into the woods and turning into wild savages” stories in PNW lore. Usually involving cannibalism.

yeah having bugbears as just big hairy goblins is dumb, so I've long had them be the wildmen in the woods instead, even combining them with Su-Monsters to give them the scary "drag their victims up into the canopy" ability

Dunno, do you think a Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Hogwarts - Glantri mashup is warranted ...?

Just another PRODUCT OF MY INSOMNIA.(TM)
I don't think a magical city or even big university fits the remote vibes of Northern Exposure or Twin Peaks.

But as the starting point for a fantasy Seattle, with coffee-swilling wizards gentrifying a gray and rainy city? That sounds great. (I always think of Buffy as very Southern Californian, but it's probably not necessary for the franchise, really. But I might swap in the X-Files or Supernatural instead, for the Cascadia of it all.)

Despite being set all over the US, Fringe was also mostly shot in Vancouver, BC. There’s also Grimm which was set in Portland, OR. Both pretty good Monster of the Week shows in a roughly similar vein.

Van Helsing (Syfy) was set in post apocalyptic Seattle, but mostly filmed in BC.
CW Sabrina and Riverdale too (even though theyre suppose to be New York)

Buffy is definitely Southern California though, shes a Valley girl
