Kenzer Villain Design Handbook reviews?

Kichwas

Half-breed
Any reviews of it out there other than those on enworld?

Any more opinions to add?

I'm trying to decide between a couple of books as my next purchase and this is one of the entries on my list.

(the others are AEG's Mercenaries and FFG's Path of Magic).

I thought the cover vilain was really dorky looking and can't believe the Kenzerians didn't catch that before paying the artist, LOL. As to the book itself, I didn't read it, just flipped through it at the store and can't remember much about it. Sorry!

Well, if Kenzer sends me a copy, it'll go into the archieve. Otherwise I've got other products that require my attention like Oathbound, Forbidden Kingdoms, and Lords of the Peaks. (And alas, none of those go here but rather, to OgreCave and Open Game Exchange...)

Some of the material is not bad but overall I wish I had picked up something else. It is not a waste just something I don't think will see a lot of use from.

I got it and found lots of useful stuff and I'm only on page 20. Course I'm also a newbie DM, so everything is still exciting and new:D

I did like my mis-reading of a sentence on page 14, which lead me to believe for a moment that due to their high dexterity, halflings are good AS thrown weapons. This is not correct. Everyone knows gnomes are the race to throw.

You obviously have never played blood bowl. Having your treeman linebacker pick up the halfling with the ball and throwing him is very satisfying. Especially if the halfling in question can manage not to get killed long enough to stand up at the end zone. :)

Never heard of it. Now I'll have to check it out.

This talk of halflings also prompted a thought on the few paragraphs about unusual familiars for the Villain. Anybody using halflings as their own version of Mini Me? Picture the evil dragon, right pinkie-claw to this mouth--"I shall call him Mini-Gryxanthiozaarack." No? Not amusing? Maybe all this Dr. Pepper is going to my head...

Blood Bowl is the Games Workshop game of fantasy football. Chaos Warriors against the wood elves and all that. The halflings get squashed a lot if you are not careful (picture halflings playing football against ogres) but they are my favorite team to play.

I do not think its in production right now but you might find some games for sale on e-bay.

Don't forget its spin off Dungeon Bowl! Halfling and goblins, love them in that game!
