Keywording changing? Will it break the game?

I am wondering what everyone thinks about changing the keywords of spells to fit the player's concept. I know the DMG mentions it for Evil Priests NPCs, but nothing about it for players. I am trying to create a cleric of chantea from our current 3.x campaign and all the radiant and fire powers are not very chantea. So my thought is simply change them to a more appropriate keyword, but I am afraid it will distrupt the math balance. Any thoughts?

I don't think it would unbalance the game to say that those powers do, for example, cold or lightning damage instead. As long as you take into account what your players are using when you design encounters, a direct translation shouldn't break anything.
