Ki Magic Items?

Are there any good magic items out there to enhance or alter ki powers? Can we add some bling to the lowly monk?
Well the thing is monks don't have ki powers on their own. They have ki strike but that is a set of bypassing DR, some immunities, and other limited abilities. The whole problem is that monks only really got a couple of defining features while all the others were ignored. I am not saying their isn't but because they aren't under a single category it is likely it won't do them much good.

The Ki Straps from Magic Item Compendium come to mind, fairly cheap and add a +2 to the stunning fist DC if I remember right...

There is another item from that book that lets you get a +2/+2 bonus to Flurry as well... bracers maybe? Or I may have these items backwards (straps help flurry, bracers help stunning fist...), either way they are there.

and expensive... monk's belt runs more than a +2 weapon, amulet of natural attacks is pricey, and good bracers of armor get up there in cost as well. I know monk's don't need a whole lot of equipment, but it's rough as you start with the lowest starting gold of any class out there.

Gauntlets of the Talon (MIC) allow your Ki abilities to count as if you were 5 levels higher, but require you to use a divine spell slot or have the True Believer feat (and worship Bahamut).

Is there any way to add weapon powers to unarmed attacks? Who wouldn't love have a shocking burst roundhouse kick or vorpal sword hand strike?

the Scorpion Kama from MIC reverse engineered makes the cost to do unarmed strike damage with a weapon a 4,000gp enchantment.

this could open up exotic materials like adamantine or cold iron, plus enchantment damages like shock, fiery or cold...

another option we did in a past campaign for a monk was to let him buy masterwork handwraps for 300gp, then he enchanted those as a weapon (ie: +1, flaming, acidic handwraps).

each of those options require a DM ruling for usage though.

Another way would be the bracers from MIC (item set piece maybe?) that adds shocking damage to your melee strikes - should work with unarmed strikes as well.

Hehe... Bracers of undead disruption... Anklets of flaming burst kicks... There should be stuff like this in the DMG...
