Kick out move, and replace with a second standard?

How would you balance dropping the standard action/move action and just make it two standard actions?

One tought was that every action, if you do two standard, each recieve a -5 penalty.

Spells casters would have to make a concentration check 15+DC Mod. (yeah, I know, penalized for a higher spellcasting attribute.)

I want to do this to make battles go by much quicker.

Any suggestions?

Giving everyone two standard actions really favors spellcasters who can hammer people with two spells without any retribution in between.

And two standard actions per round isn't much different from giving everyone just a single standard or move action each round. This method favors spellcasters as well, as those with multiple attacks can never make them.

Fact: most spellcasters max out Concentration

Your suggestion would definately be giving spellcasters 2 spells per round AND if they have Quicken-ed spells then it is 3 per round. That's unbalancing.

I'm going to assume that Full Round Actions are now = 2 Standard Actions or else that is something that disappears for the fighting types, spring attack, and some other things.

In addition there are a lot of skills and actions that are Move Actions - feinting in combat, for example that will need to be modified.
