Killing a Demi-lich

preferably a vorpal sword, ignores the DR 30/-, but deals half damage to them. Otherwise you have to be able to deal over 30 points of damage, which isn't difficult at the point you should be fighting them. I had a fighter who I designed to basically fight casters and he laughed at a demilich as I walked all over him. Magic eating armor, armor with freedom on it, death ward on an amulet, fort save and will save in the mid 30s with steadfast determination. Immunity to cold, electricity, and acid. Resistance 30 to fire and sonic. The character was a dwarf with the saint template and I ended up getting healed by the demilich when he cast a spell on me that required a fort save and I rolled a 1 or higher.

Stuff the bugger in a bag of holding.
May not be dead, but he's out of your hair, and, with how annoyed he'd be, you could sic him on the next enemy you faced that you had some trouble with.
And, assuming it to be a dragon, your problem is solved.
...Oh, wait, Mr Welsch's list forbids this...Online list of well over a thousand ridiculous things that shouldn't be allowed in a roleplaying game. Includes that the demi-lich only falls for being stuffed in the bag of holding once, and that 'search the castle' doesn't mean 'shell it with artillery, and sift through the rubble.'
Either way, no sense in clobbering such a potentially useful resource.
