Of course that still begs the question why doesn't one of the powerful archmages that calls the silver marches home pop into his chambers and fry his butt, but dnd almost always begs that question so I'll try to ignore it if I can.

Forgotten Realms really needs to see the inclusion of the Astirax from Midnight. It can sense magic items and magic in use for a mile radius around it. It is a spirit creature which posesses animal bodies. It's bite drains magic energy from mages...

There really is nothing stopping a DM from doing that if he wants to. I'm sure a capable DM could tweak an Astirax to fit in a FR campaign.

I'm also reviving my Silver Marches campaign. Can someone post there take on an amped up Obould that woyuldn't be bitchslapped by Bruenor with one hand tied? Seriously, the CR 9 Obould doesn't fit my take of the Ultimate Orc Warlord. I'm guessing you could slap The Warlord from races of Faerun on him, but since i haven't read the novels, I don't have a take on his power level now.

apparently, there was a orc cleric that held favor with gruumsh, and this orc cleric felt that Obould was gruumsh because he had brought about the fall of Bruenor so, they performed a huge sacrificial ceremony thing and imbued Obould with some of Gruumsh's power (bigger, stronger, smarter) so yeah, I think he could squish Wulfgar since he tackled Gerti and tossed her aside. That's a fight that didn't happen all the way though, I imagine Gerti could have mopped the floor with him if she had a full mad on.

That's in a nutshell secondhand since I haven't read much of that series.
