I started reading KotDT back around issue #8 or 9. I've always enjoyed the comic, and, even though I don't read many of the articles, I still try to buy every issue (picking up the newest issue(s) is part of my regular routine when I go to my FLGS).

KoDT rules. Stared reading it in the Shadis' I picked up during my MtG addiction. Then I saw the 1st ish at my FLGS one day and snagged it up. None of my friends knew why I was so geeked over it, but they soon found out. (Little did I know how rare it was, too...)

I didn't realize it would be an ongoing series and didn't start collecting it until #17. But the BoTs helped there. Fun read. The humor's not quite what it once was, but the stories are far better than they once were, too. I love Jolly's 'crappy' art, I'm glad they haven't really upgraded it much since the first strips.

The rest of the mag is always hit and miss, but no different from most magazines.

Yeah, I go to the FLGM once a month or so to pick up the new issue. I think I'm a month behind come to think of it.

I love the comics, the rest of the mag is really hit or miss with me, which is fine.

If they came out with some "essential" or "showcase" versions I'd probably buy it more but it's too expensive for what I use it for. A comic. The gaming stuff is very good but it's not why I'm interested in it.

Absolutely agree. To me, it's primary value is the comic. I'm not interested in all the articles and other stuff (less so the "spin-off" comics, like Fuzzy Knights).

That's why I'm buying strictly Bundle of Trouble. Sheer gold, that one. Just comics, comics, comics, in a nicely bound paperback book.

KODT is the best gaming-related magazine out there. I believed that even when Dragon and Dungeon were still on the market.

Wild as this statement may seem at first glance I am prone to agree. Dragon rehashed the same things over and over while Dungeon...don't get me started. Never liked Dungeon. I make my own adventures and so that mag contributed very little of value. When Ares was attached to it I was willing to pay the cost just to get the Ares section.

KoDT on the other hand is well worth the cover price. Not only do I laugh my butt off at the strips but I return to look at it again and again for the fresh articles and ideas. One of my favorite sections is the one where they scour the net for websites that support various, often older and out of print, games. I'm always finding new coverage of games where I thought I knew all the good sites. Awesome stuff.

I've been buying KoDT ever since issue #14 (and I have the Bundles of Trouble for the issues before that); their run in Dragon made me notice them, and once I got started I couldn't bring myself to stop.

I was initially upset at how they became a "magazine" and started having all those articles that bumped the price up. However, I was delighted to find 3E/3.5E content in there, something that I think recently came to an end as their license with WotC expired, which is a shame. That said, I still enjoy a lot of their articles now (particularly "Gamer's Rant at the Movies," holy crap is that guy hysterical!) and of course the comic never fails to delight and amuse me.

Here's hoping there's years and years more of KoDT to come! Hoody hoo!

i started with dragon magazine, then we had Bundle number one here in brazil. so much joy!

i also like (altought i had read just a few) the series about the charatcers, not the players

Well, I've been playing D&D since 2e (started in 1993),* and reading KODT since issue 1. I'm not sure if that makes me old school, but damn, I love KODT.

I like the ongoing plots they have now, especially the ones that take the story away from the game table. I like all the game stories, but it's nice to get a glimpse of the characters when they aren't sitting at B.A.'s Mom's dining table.

It's still hard to beat the laughs the first issue gave me, though. The Fireball generator still makes me smile.

I've got most of the issues, except for some gaps here and there in my collection where my FLGS didn't have a copy (or had sold out) and I didn't bother ordering another (b/c a friend had it to read). It's a great comic, and may it last until the final orc dies under a d20.

*I just realized that about half of my gaming days have been the days of 3e. Time passes so quickly, it seems like just yesterday I was happily gazing through the gorgeous new 3.0 PHB and dreaming up the half-orc Balrog...

KotDT is great but I imagine OotS gets more play here is because its free.

While there are "webstrips" at the Kenzer & Co. website, those are just part of the entire comic content of the KotDT magazine, and serve as previews. If you want the entire "story", you need to actually buy the magazine.
