Knowledge (architecture & engineering)--who actually has it as a class skill?

It would be helpful to deal with a certain bridge in RHoD...
That was the example I was going to use, our party wizard at the time used it very effectively in the RHoD module!

I've also used it as a wizard to figure things out in game such as "you're knowledge of architecture tells you that the building looks bigger on the outside than on the inside" So we went in and searched, sure enough there was a secret door full of swag we had missed :)

Don't forget your (UA-variant Cloistered or not) Cleric with the Knowledge Domain which gives all Kn skills as class skills too!

I just haven't seen that skill really get used to any significant effect. How have you seen Knowledge (A&E) used to good and useful effect in game?

I once combined it with a Shatter spell to destroy a key support beam and collapse a roof.

The Druid Giantess who was lurking on top was very surprised!

Cool, that helps a lot! Skills are one of the things I have a harder time adjudicating when DMing, and that's a particular instance where your input will make me a better DM. Thank you! :)

Cloistered Clerics can make good use of it.

Rogue 1/Cloistered Cleric X is a strong build that gets good mileage out of the skill synergies. Search and Disable Device kept max by cross-class ranks, of course.

Characters in my campaign have used it just occasionally. It's kind of an oddity for a D&D skill, ... all the Knowledge skills are, but it has even less active uses than most.

adventures included doing repairs to the city walls, exploring the sewers, excavating a newly discovered buried ruin, reinforcing a fortified pass, infiltrating an enemy castle and stealing their 'god', blowing up a bridge and rebuilding a city (where the governor gave him the office of Chartered City Engineer)

That sounds totally rad. Kudos to you for taking a character concept and running with it.
