[KoK] Monster list for upcoming book

Some of the material looks like it's appeared before. I think that the aquatic tarrasque for example was in the Tombs module. This should be an interesting book. Is this one still being done by the Troll Lords or ?

Yes, some of the monsters that appeared in older KoK modules and supplements appear in this book, revised for D&D 3.5. (All monsters will also have tactics round-by-round, btw.)

Some monsters in the book (approximately 10-15 in the final cut) were written by the guys at Troll Lords, based on ideas I gave them or ideas of their own. Of course, the final version was edited in-house to make sure it fits the KoK setting.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but whats the planned release date for this book?

Also, how compatible/generic will it be for use outside of the Kalamar setting?

The book is going to WotC for the second approval stage this week. After any revisions, it'll go for a final approval stage. So our current estimate is June.

It's completely portable to any other setting. All setting-specific information is clearly defined in the last section of the descriptive text, entitled "On Tellene" (like "In the Realms" in the Monsters of Faerun book). Other Tellene-specific info is clearly labeled and set apart in sidebars and appendices.

Page count? Price? Hardcover? Black and White?

Originally, the book was solicited as a 176-page b&w hardcover, for $24.99. However, the page count will probably be higher. I won't know for sure until we've hit the final approval stage.

Oh NO! Another one for my GENCON list! :)

Wow! What a great list! I can't wait for this book! The only thing that I wish could have been added was Pack Ape, from HackMaster. Any chance of sneaking it in??

Thanks
Chris
