Blizzard was apparently faced with the same issue in the Culling of Stratholme mission in Warcraft III. What would Wal-Mart say to killing kids to prevent them rising as zombies?Scott_Rouse said:Consideration was given to write it that way but killing zombies of murdered children was a bit too gritty so we made them generic zombies.

Whoa. Reminds me of something out of Fatal Frame/Project Zero, which is a very good thing when it comes to spookiness. Consider it yoinked.Simplicity said:You see a man in shining armor standing over a cradle. He turns around at your approach, and you notice that his steel gauntlets are dripping in blood. "I'm sorry," he cries as he runs you through with his sword... At that the vision fades and the man and cradle are gone. But you feel a sticky warmth as blood spurts from the wound you've made in your stomach with your weapon.
I'm always very interested in hearing stuff like this. Anything else you'd like to share that got cut?Scott_Rouse said:Consideration was given to write it that way but killing zombies of murdered children was a bit too gritty so we made them generic zombies.

Simplicity said:The players can later learn that Sir Keegan was granted a vision by Orcus that his child would one day try to open the rift. Kalarel is, of course, that child. (I'll be changing Kalarel to a half-elf to account for the long lifespan...). When the players meet Sir Keegan, he'll be a lot less sane, and he'll be begging the players to finish what he started... Giving them the very same sword to do it.
