Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

"Spritewing! Get up there and get the wizard to safety! Come back if you can! As soon as you can! Someone will speak dwarven above."
Shouts Rockhorn at his steed before looking at Custodio.
Spritewing looks at the closed psionic doors leading out of the labyrinth. He can hear the door whispering to him. Urging him to stay. The glowing, psionic words on the door shift from Sylvan to Dwarven and then back to Sylvan again.

OOC: Spritewing can speak the phrase to unseal the doors, but he cannot open the double doors with his hooves. I will have him speak the phrase on his turn.

MetaVoid said:
"Well, kill her then! Don't leave an enemy behind we cannot capture!"
He looks for the moment like he will charge at the prone woman, but stops before fully committing.
Custodio looks back from the gargoyle-room when Rockhorn shouts at him. He knows the wild dwarf is probably right. Still, there is a part of him that won't let him kill a helpless foe. It goes against his teachings. If it was a monstrous foe, then he would do it. But, she is human. He shakes his head.

"Do not fret over her life, Vanquisher," Gattas says to him from the other side of the room. "If you cannot bring yourself to do it, then I will end her life. If they recover her, she will probably face worse than death for her failure."

"I would rather have Tim gather her up as he retreats," Custodio replies. "But, if he cannot... without putting himself at risk..." He shakes his head. "No, continue to retreat to the doors out of this place. Help Spritewing get the doors open."

Gattas nods.

MetaVoid said:
"I cannot lose so much space, I'm too slow without Spritewing."
He steps back motioning behind him to Eeldai and deaf-mute knight to follow suit. Still, his hand is tense, axe at the ready.
Eeldai steps back in unison with Rockhorn. The knight hesitates until he sees that the genie is following Rockhorn's lead. He nods and steps back as well, but he keeps his guard up.

Akos is too close to melee for his own comfort. There are bad experiences with these guys that know to grapple him, to keep him silent and worst, that have ready cold iron weapons.

Still, there are normal humans among them.
"Tuck! We have to go! Run!"
Tuck shoulders his pack and prepares to run. "Go! I'm right behind you!"

Neurotic said:
"You, cultists, you really should take heed and abandon your master while you still have a chance. Dealing with these kind of critters..." [/COLOR]he motions toward Kellam and the creature behind the lines as he catches the eye of the woman in the back "...you really should reconsider your priorities. Humans have no way of coming on top when the top is taken by monsters. There is much to be said on allying with us. Or maybe staying with the altar depending on your own decision. Master Lowenan is safe even now along with his companions. Can you say the same?"
He looks over the humans in the group and nods, the effect spoiled partially by him retreating back toward the line of warriors.
Akos words completely envelope the woman standing behind the low wall. Her mind buckles and Akos magic takes away her will to fight. She stands up and looks at the dark creature behind her. The thing is a horrid reminder what might befall her if Phelix choose to steal her soul as he has down to the man once known as Imninon.

She is unsure of what to do, but she feels it is folly to attack the Loremaster and his allies. "Perhaps... there is another way," she mumbles to herself.

Neurotic said:
"Tim, Vitus, you really should move back. Vitus!"
Tim knows the loremaster is right, but he holds his ground until Tuck is clear.

As Maggs' mind succumbs to Akos magic, the creature behind her steps in between her and the thug at the bottom of the stairs. It seems to sense that the floor in front of it is affected by magic. Its glowing, yellow eyes shine out like rays of magical light and sweep across the corridor. It turns its head towards the wall and then steps up onto the wall using just its legs... at first. It hisses and leans in towards the wall and you are horrified to see a tentacle like limb protrude from its gut and stick to the wall.

The undead monstrosity skitters up the wall to be ten feet above Cassara where it perches. It sweeps its eyes down to focus on the dead orc lying on the floor. The beams of yellowish light envelop the dead orc, and it howls in delight. Necromantic energy flows into the corpse, and the orc rises from the ground as a mindless undead creature.

Another thug appears on the stairs where the undead menace had been moments before. He seems unaware of the enchantment affecting Maggs. He is dressed similarly to the other thug but has a shortbow in his hand.

A moment later, the undead orc moves forward to try to reach Vitus, but the moment it steps onto the greased floor, it falls into a heap.

Then, from beyond the stairs, there is a flash of green light. An unnatural voice rings out from beyond where you can see. "WHO DARES DISHONOUR THE GLORY OF THE SOULKEEPER!"

The man who just appeared on the stairs looks back in horror at something you cannot see. "What!?"

OOC: The undead creature can climb the walls as if it has spider climb. Its glowing eyes are equivalent to animate dead, which can be used once per round as a standard action.

Savage Skeleton Warrior - Initiative: 1D20+8 = [2]+8 = 10
Savage Skeleton Warrior - Balance check: 1D20+1 = [4]+1 = 5 (fails)

The Loyalist Fanatic named Cassara screams in terror and flees away from Akos. "NOOOOO!" She screams.

"You dare attack me!" The unnatural voice resounds again. You hear the sounds of combat beyond the stairwell.

"Commander, what is that thing?" One of the thugs asks, but the man named Kefax doesn't answer.

Tuck rushes for the doorway while saying a short farewell to the living altar. He rushes past Tim and Custodio but stops next to Akos in the corridor. He glances back when he sees Akos looking at the undead creature clinging to the wall.

"What the hell is that thing?" Tuck asks.

Down at the end of the corridor, Spritewing speaks the psionic phrase and the double doors leading out of the labyrinth are unsealed. He kicks at the doors but they won't budge. The dungeonbred pegasus tries to grab the handle with his mouth, but he can't get a solid grip on it.

OOC: @TaranTheWanderer, it's now your turn for Vitus. I will post the updated map sometime tomorrow. It's too late to work on it now.

Horrified, Vitus thinks,

Who is this Phelix that he would deal with undead and outsiders. He's truly evil

"
How can you follow him? Have you totally lost your humanity? He deals with abominations!"

Vitus considers drawing up the power of his goddess to turn the undead menace but he's wounded and can't afford to leave himself open to the enemy's attacks. Instead, using the disorganized enemy confusion as an opportunity, he withdraws.

"Falen, open the door. Let's get out of here. I'm going to grab that girl."

He draws back towards the woman on the ground to try to pull her to safety.

Move action: move to Lithia

Free action: after the attack of opportunity, sheath Glorious as Vitas moves so he has a free hand to grab the Loyalist

Move action: move with lithia to the space in front of the Knight

NOTE:
The KNight, Custodio, Vincenzo @ScottDeWar_jr and rockhorn @MetaVoid and Tymbeck all get 1 hp.

@Knightfall In one of the initiatives, I saw someone cast invisibility - which shouldn't function within 40 feet of Vitus

Dedicating two points of Glorious into defense.

As the young cleric of Tyche slides and ducks his way past Tim, Kellam snarls and swings his mace at Vitus. The swing is poorly judged and Vitus isn't sure if Kellam missed due to Tim's presence or the bits of broken goo still clinging to his forearm.

The man curses his bad luck.

Gattas follows Custodio's order and retreats down the corridor towards Spritewing and stops near the supplies sitting next to the gargoyle statue. He looks back towards the Vanquisher cleric. "What is in these? Magic? Weapons?"

"We came to help the knight," Custodio replies. "So, we brought supplies for him. Food. Water. If you want to help, then pick up that chest and get it out of here!"

OOC: A reminder that sheathing a weapon is not a free action. It is a move action. But, I'll let you drag her with one hand instead of two.

There probably should be a Dexterity check to keep from dropping your weapon while dragging her, but let's not worry about it for this fight. I believe I let you (or was it Falen?) drag her once before without having to sheath a held weapon.

Anyway, it is now @Aust Thale's turn for Falen.

Falen: Whispering a spell, Falen casts Fly on himself and moves to the ceiling to provide line of sight, but backs off the melee another 15’ to the south. He observes closely what’s happening north of him, eyeing additional threats and sizing up what the sudden voice might be. Battlefields are not settled places, but this labyrinth has clearly not been sorted out by Phelix. Perhaps that is a weakness. His inability or unwillingness to be present makes his sensory experience, and even basic trial and error, rather dulled by his surrogates. The labyrinth has more secrets than simply his machinations. He makes a mental note of wandering about should hostilities be dealt with. In the meantime, he is providing a crude oversight to their withdrawal.
