Yes, previously, the PCs encountered a young deaf/mute knight in a underground labyrinth below one of Old City's inner gates (called the Gate of Scales). The PCs found him working alongside several corrupted gate guards who had turned against the city to work with Phelix. Phelix had lied to the nameless young man and the gate's ex-commander was the only one who was able to communicate with the knight using sign language. The knight has a strong connection to a genie trapped in powerful magical circle that the PCs couldn't break through at the time. During an intense negotiation, both in-person with the ex-guards and through a magical one-way portal with one of Phelix's allies, Akos managed to communicated with the young knight by using rudimentary sign language to tell him the truth. The renegade's ally, a gnome named Musummaar, unleashed a alien fire demon through the portal from the Unseen Abyss (aka the Far Realm). The demon was killed along with a mimic and a doppelganger hidden among the ex-guards. The PCs learned that the young knight can't leave he labyrinth due to the time dilation without protection. If he does, like Neurotic noted, he will die. He needs some sort of magical protection such as a ring of sustenance. Food and drink aren't required in the labyrinth, so as long as he stays down there, he'll be fine. However, Phelix has a huge time advantage over the young man and considers the labyrinth to be his to control. The knight is very tough, however. The knight has been in the labyrinth for decades, maybe even centuries. He only seems to understand the language Novarese when it is communicated to him by sign language.
