Kusari-gama

In the DMG this is listed as a martial weapon with many of the properties of the Spiked Chain. How well does this work to give the players a weapon (highly optional albeit) that is ighly abuseable and doesn't even cost the feat that the Spiked Chain does to use? Is this handled differently in the OA book?

In OA, its much different. For one thing, they realized that making a reach/no reach weapon that was medium sized was a major mistake.

It's now a double/reach weapon. If its used as a double weapon, you only threaten 5 feet, and if used as a reach weapon, only one of the heads can attack. They also increased the size to large. Bye bye Kisura Gama and shield combo.

Its damage is 1d6/1d4 S/B.
