Kysthiwendor smiles slightly, still holding her side, and bows to the judge. "Thank you, Mistress Ariel. I shall further my skills through the way of the Sash, as the demonstrative prowess of that style fits me best."

Turning to her opponent, who looks slightly drenched from the fall into the rapids, Kysthiwendor places her palms together in front of the center of her chest, and bows. "You are truly a worthy opponent. It was a close fight indeed, and I look forward to the next time we engage in battle. Farewell until that day."

So saying, Kysthiwen pulls out a folded white cloak, and wraps it around her body, pulling the hood over her eyes. Casting a final glance backwards over the site of her first battle in this land, she strides off into the mist that has begun to roll in, dissapearing from sight.

Before I post my move, I would like to object to the final description posted by Phoenix. This has been a great match, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it, however I do not like it when a move is automatically dictated to succeed against my character. As I understand YB rules, this is not allowed, even in style matches. My particular objection is to this passage:

The links of the chain all fly apart and slash through the air before biting into Kysthiwendor's body like a fang. Looking down, she sees that the chain link has grown large barbs and seems to be more of a shuriken now. She also notices that is is wiggling and wriggling in the wound as if trying to pull itself free.

The move you described is great, but I would appreciate it if in the future, you would not assume it hits my character regardless of what she does.

LuYangShi, I believe these are the relevant portions of the rules you were referring to...

Game Etiquette
Manners are for everyone, even villains and YB players should observe a few simple points of game etiquette. Following the following rules will make the game more enjoyable for all involved.

1) Let the judges decide how badly you hurt your opponent. It is bad form and embarrassing to describe in detail how you smashed your opponent into little shattered pieces only to have the judge declare that the other move was superior and you lost the round

2) Do not put words or actions into the mouth of another players character! Not unless you get consent to do so or the actions are minimal. Do not tell someone else how his or her character reacts to a situation. Let them decide this! Even in a style match, be careful to be a minimalist in how you describe your opponent’s moves.

From reading these, I can see that I infringed slightly on rule #1 by saying that you were injured at all. Although I thought I had made it pretty clear that the returning shuriken-links and the flipping of the raft was the real meat of the attack and the initial hit was just a distraction. So I wasn't trying to show that Lotus' move had totally succeded against her foe and obviously won the round. I said you got hit, but thought I showed that she was still very much in the fight and could win as easily as not.

I don't believe I violated rule #2 because I didn't say anything about how your character reacted to anything. I guess I did say that she looked down to see the hit. So there is a minor infringment of that as well I guess.

I've been the victim of rampant violation of these rules in the past(as Rathan might even remember) so I understand and apoligize for stepping over the bounds slightly. My intention was to describe a tough battle, not an unwinable one for your character. I thought I had made this clear enough to not be an issue. Obviously I was incorrect.

In-character responses coming next...

I understand, and I know you were not deliberately violating the spirit of the rules. I simply thought that my options for a response to the move were limited because of the fact it was a success, technically speaking. For example, if I had posted earlier in my Willow attack that the falling stones had hit you, your character would not have been able to respond in the manner she did, which was why I objected.

This was a very close and enjoyable match, and it could've easily gone the other way. You are quite skilled at describing your moves, and it was great fun to read them. I, as well as my character, look forward to the next time we fight. :)
