Kytons and Dancing Chains

Hey, everyone. The Kyton Dancing Chains description in the Monster Manual states that the chains so animated "fight as effectively as the Kyton himself" or somesuch like that. Does this mean that they attack at the same attack bonuses as the Kyton, and do the same damage, with all the same modifiers?

For example, let's say a Kyton has an attack bonus of +14/+9 with his Spiked Chain, and deals 2d4 + 12 damage. Do all of the animated chains likewise have a +14/+9 attack bonus with 2d4 + 12 damage?

Yes. A kyton in a roomful of chains is a very nasty proposition. IIRC, there was one such in one of the adventures in WotC's Adventure Path series.

Notice that these Chains are natural weapons for the Kyton and that they do NOT wield "spiked chains" from the PHB and are not wielded two-handed. The base Kyton wields 2 chains, both as primary natural attacks (full base attack and x1 Str bonus):

2 Chains +10 melee (2d4+2/19-20/x2)

If you advance a Kyton to have a higher BAB, it still makes 2 chain attacks at it's highest BAB and doesn't receieve multiple attacks for a high BAB as a PC would, wileding a spiked chain.

The Dancing Chains (max 4) attack at the Kytons highest BAB as it would wielding the chain. So a maximum of 4 Chains +10 melee (2d4+2/19-20/x2) for a base Kyton, and the same for an advanced Kyton, each chain attack at the Kytons highest BAB.

So an advanced Kyton (12 HD) with a BAB +12 would make a maximum of 4 chain attacks with the dancing chains ability at +14 melee each, as a standard action.
