He had a few levels in expert. Maybe some warrior levels since he was in the military. I know some people might want to give him rogue levels since he was a con artist. He didn't look like the type of person who could evade an explosion with a reflex save or shimmy up a stone wall and pick a lock. Just a con artist with some charisma.
