D&D 4E Lack of Wizard Feat Choice in 4e?

Periapt of Wisdom ------ 13+
Item Slot: Neck
+3 at level 13, plus one at levels 18, 23, and 28
Enhancement: Fortitude, Reflex, Will

Property: Gain a +1 item bonus to wisdom ability checks and wisdom based skill checks (But not attacks). Level 23 or 28 - +2 item bonus

There is also a power that adds to your will defense. But I think your right, I didn't really read it, I don't think this works for feat purposes. I just saw the title and assumed it gave you a wisdom bonus for all purposes.

Since we are talking house rules - IMC I removed the ability restrictions for all the 'elemental damage' feats.

Why?

Because

a) martial types can get weapon focus which gives them a damage bonus on ALL their attacks with no ability restrictions. After all, it isn't as if they need to swap around between a variety of weapons or anything like that nowadays.

b) the ability restrictions are punitive to any game using default array (and to most kinds of wizard in fact - burning blizzard is the only one which is relatively easy to get since it has Int and Wis as prereqs which most wizards are likely to want)

That does at least open up another five(?) feats for general use by wizards.
