Lacoliths

Climate/Terrain: Any Arid Land and Underground
Organization: Solitary
Challenge Rating: Whelp 4, Grunt 8, Warrior 12, Titan 18
Treasure: Standard (Nonflammables only)
Alignment: Usually Chaotic Evil

Laccoliths are large, powerful creatures said to be made of lava rock, magma, fire, and hatred. They tear through the landscape, burning and razing everything with a semblance of life.

Combat
Laccoliths smash into combat, targeting whomever appears most flammable, burning and slamming them into submisssion.

Burn (Ex): Those hit by a Laccolith's slam attack must succeed at a reflex save or catch fire (See page 86 in the DMG). The Save DC varies by the class of the Laccolith. A burning creature can take a move-equivalent action to put out the flame.

Eject Flame (Ex): Once per round as a free action, a Laccolith can blast forth with of flames from one of the many flame spouts that pepper it's body. The flames take up a radius equal to the Laccolith's reach and deal damage as listed below. A reflex save with the same DC as the Laccolith's burn attack halves this damage.

Age Eject Damage Burn DC
Whelp 1d6 13
Grunt 2d6 14
Warrior 4d6 16
Titan 8d6 18

Fire Subtype: Fire immunity, double damage from cold except on a successful save.

very nice, but a few comments:

First, what do their eject fire and burn abilities do?

Second: I would change their creature type to elementals or outsider, Rath is a demiplane after all.

Third, I suggest reducing their Hit Dice, the whelp I would give 2HD, the grunt 4HD, the Warrior 6HD and the Titan 12HD.

Fourth, Will their be a template to emulate the red enchantment that could make any creature into a laccolith?

Fifth, I suggest you reduce their ability scores somewhat, I doubt a creature the size of a goblin is stronger than a Bugbear.

Anyways, quite good work, any ideas on converting the Slivers, oh, wait, I've allready done that, just need a good description of the Mind-Whip sliver. My mind-whip sliver cards where destroyed in a freak accident...

And where are your descriptions of the laccoliths abilities???

Later,

I like high HD monsters, as our game is so extreme it is basically bungee jumping with dice. If you think they are still too powerful, adjust the CR.

I think the laccolith rig is a magic item, not a template.

The laccoliths are extremely strong, but I guess adjusting the str of the whelp seems good.

...

A mindwhip is 2B to play, 2/2, 2, Sacrifice mindwhip sliver: target player chooses and discards a card.

Bingee Jumping with dice? That was an interresting picture...

About the Mindwhip, I know what it does, what I need is a description of what it looks like, no more that three lines long. And that's hard when you don't have the art handy... :D

But if you want I can post my conversion of the Craw Wurm... and yes, it is a dragon :D
