How is the charge multiplier applied? Just to the lance, all physical damage, or what?

Same way as all multipliers. It multiplies the base damage and any +'s to damage, but not any extra dice.

So doesn't multiply damage from say greater powerful charge, or are you talking about precision damage and energy damage?

Correct. Extra dice of damage are not multiplied. (Exceptions are specifically noted. For example, see flaming burst weapons.)

In other words, Power Attack is the best feat evar to use with a lance (after spirited charge, of course).
