Hi,
does anyone have experience with the miniatures from Lance and Laser? I am interested in hearing about the quality of the minis and experience in buying from the company. If anyone has experience ordering from them from Europe, that would be of particular interest.

Im primarily interested in their Blackmoor miniatures, but some of their other minis look interesting as well, based on the pictures.

I am severely underwhelmed by the apparent quality of those minis, as far as I can see tell from the photographs. They are rather archaic in form, and remind me of some of the cheaper minis I used to run across twenty-five, thirty years ago or more.

So, if you are looking for an old school feel.... :\

I really like their Villains & Vigilantes line (which is now updated to Living Legends, I think), all designed by Jeff Dee. Many of the figs are straight from V&V, like Shatterman from the old Dragon ads.

Those are the only minis I know from the company, though. And be advised that the scale is large for 80s minis but small for modern ones!

Out of pure curiosity . . .

Hi Havard -- Noticed you're in Norway. Out of pure curiosity, is there a gaming shop in Bergen?

I picked up a few a while back when I was filling in some holes in my collection. I also almost picked up some of their Heroquest figures, but really haven't been playing (I wish I was, but getting a group is tough).

IMO, they are a solid quality line. Unfortunately, the market for miniatures today consists of mostly top quality companies, new companies and companies that fill a niche*. Compared to today's market the ones I have are towards the bottom of the top quality line.

* I love Irregular Miniatures because they have some hard to find miniatures (I bought a lot of their pack horses and mules, for example) and were very cheap. The quality is pretty low though.

It looks like a large group of the minis are for RuneQuest.
They have some very amusing animal warriors.. And some very evil looking pig men. Gannon, anyone?

Thanks for sharing! This made me a little more optimistic. About the niche thing, I guess Blackmoor is a pretty small niche. And being a bit of a Blackmoor fanatic, Im once again considering ordering some of these... :)
