Land of the Lost on DVD: Worth It?

I have very fond memories of watching this show when I was a kid. I don't know if I want to ruin them. I want to know if anyone else has bought the first season on DVD and their thoughts on it. Thanks!

Is Land of the Lost worth it? I don't think so. I hated the show as a kid.

First season, definitely. Some of the best SF talent of the era contributed scripts, though the FX quality ranks somewhere below Dr. Who of the same era.

I'm not sure it's something I could watch again and again now, but it was nice seeing the original episodes if for no other reason than the memories that were brought back to the surface...

I hated the show as a kid.

Which pretty much invalidates your opinion on the topic at hand.

ie whether it is worth it for childhood fans of the show to see it again.

I would reluctantly have to recommend against it. A few years back I caught an episode of SpeedRacer one of my all time favorite shows from when I was a kid. Now the last time I'd seen it I think I was in my late teens and now I'm north of 35.

It was agonizing to watch. The characters were so stillted and buffonish, the plot was completely nonsensical. The Lesson for me was
