Lantan Originally Human?

From what I have been reading, Lantan in the Forgotten Realms was mostly a Human nation, but it somehow got ovverun by Gnomes(I think because of the influence of Dragonlance Gnomes). So, am I right, or has it always been a Gnomish nation?

It was human, and still is human. Its heavily Gondite, as I recall, and there probably is a good gnomish presence because of it. Ugh, damn you Dragonlance, I despise tinker gnomes, and theyve infected everything.

I like the Minoi from Dragonlance, but I kind of wish they had stayed out of the realms. It is ok if there are Gnomeish Artificers, but now it seems like you would be met with blank stares if you said you were going to make a Human from Lantan.

As said already, Lantan is, and always has been, a human nation.

Yes, Lantan was (and is) a human nation. After the Time of Troubles when Gond's avatar was washed up on the island's shore in the form of a gnome, many gnomes have made pilgrimages to Lantan with a few choosing to reside there permanently. As such, the gnomish population of the island continues to grow.

Wow that makes me feel stupid I have always been under the impresson it's a gnomish nation. That is quite interesting.
