D&D 4E Large Races?

I wouldn't follow the MM races for balance guidelines - Wizards has done an update on Minotaurs, for example, and they dropped oversized for the reasons given. If they ever update Bugbears, I'd expect the same.
I don't have access to DDI, so I have to ask, "did they simply drop the ability or add something else to replace it?"

They added things to replace it. Although what they did add was focused on charging, so, while it wasn't broken like oversized is, it still had the melee focus problem.

EDIT: With hurl rock, keep in mind that it'll fall behind on accuracy and damage without it being a weapon or implement attack. Consider building in a scaling bonus, the same way the dragonborn's dragon breath power works.

And do note that power'll provoke - that's a big deal for a character who'll be in melee a lot, which is how this PP looks to be shaping up.
Okay, I've made another edit to Hurl Rock.

Hurl Rock [Firbolg Elder Attack 11]
Encounter
Standard ActionClose burst 5
Target: One enemy in burst you can see
Attack: Dexterity +2 vs. AC
Hit: 2d6 + Dexterity modifier damage.
▬ Increase to two enemies, +4 bonus, and 4d6 + Dexterity modifier damage at 21st level.

Plus, I've gone back and made several changes to the original Firbolg post. I'm still not sure if I want to change Firbolg Surge.

BTW, I'm planning to create an Epic Destiny to go along with this race and paragon path; although, I want the ED to be useable by all "oversized" races, so to speak.

Basically the 26th level utility daily power would change the character's space to be large for the duration of an encounter. You wouldn't be able to recover it until you've taken an extended rest.

The ED would be called Giantsoul. :D

I'm not sure how I want the ED's other features to work yet.
