Last Dragon Published Before Wizards Bought TSR?

Based on a purchase date by Wizards of April, 1997, I think that would make it #236, but I wanted to double-check here to see if anyone was sure.

Yep. Dragon 237 has an editorial entitled "Where's My Magazine?" that discussed the months of no Dragon Magazine, and the acquisition of TSR by Wizards of the Coast.

I had a subscription during that period, and the waiting sucked. Skip Williams kept reassuring us that more magazines would be coming, but it was pretty hard to believe for a while.

236 was dated December 1996. 237 had no month listed in it, but it was something like July when it finally came out. 238 was dated August 1997.

Sad times.

My subscription at the time ran out about 4-6 issues before then. I was off in college, unfortunately not gaming, and didn’t really notice all the craziness at the time. It wasn't until long after the fact that I learned how bad things got.
