Last Potter Picture to be adapted into two

I'm also okay with having two movies. They are always visually enjoyable and I would rather pay for two of those than one of those and some other piece of crap movie. At least with the HP series, you know the film will be worthwhile.

That sums it up nicely for me as well.

Personally I'd rather wish they made it into a 3 to 3 1/2 hour long movie, rather then a 2 2 hour long movies. That way you can save money at the theater and then get rid of any scenes that should be cut from the film.

How about they rename it "Kill Voldemort, parts 1 and 2." The first movie could begin with Harry waking up from his near death experience and cutting a read swath through Voldemort's followers. Then the second movie would fill in the back story and end with the final confrontation between Harry and Voldi.

While that's great for us, not so great for theater owners and managements.

The longer the film, the fewer people will pay in a day. The sames goes for multiplex theaters, which is pretty much killing the traditional one-room theaters.

Not bad for us, but they tarrget a mostly younger audience that does not do well with long films, especially when the parent has a handful of youngsters in tow and cannot leave the lot to take one, then the next, then another to the restroom, etc.

Or do extended versions for those of us adult fans who don't have to pee every half hour.... Unlike Ranger REG... :p ;)

They should make the next two books into longer movies; the last one should've been longer, IMO. They seemed to have left gaps in the movie that would've been filled by making the movie about a half-hour or so longer.

I think my problem is that they're picking the worst book to stretch out into two movies. WHen I read the book the first thing I thought of was all the padding was put there to cut it out for the movie... I can't imagine a movie of that padding.

It may be that they need the extra time in order to add in further details that previous movies dropped, I think Order of the Phoenix or Half-Blood would make a two movie split better. I think either way they'd be better off making the movie as one normal length movie, then having a Super Extended Edition DVD.

The other thing is, they always talk about having to trim materials, but most of the time my problems have more to do with what they add. If Goblet of Fire needed more time, fine, but then extending the dragon chase into an idiotic aerial affair seems out of place.
