League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

We did a similar riff not long ago, but with original PCs. THe 'literary' and 'TV' characters were NPCs, including:

* A bitter, methodone-addled Shaggy (wherein Scooby Doo was the product of government experiments, and had gone feral and murderous)

* Barbie was a cold-war era spy, eternally young

* Richard "Richie" Rich, the billionaire industrialist who was an integral part of the plot...oh, and his erstwhile girlfriend Wendy, the occultist

* all the PCs had appropriate fictional mentors. The car buff had trained under Speed Racer, the parapsychologist took grad-school classes from Egon Spengler, the INTERPOL agent had once been the assistant to Simon Templar, etc.

But of course our game had a strong 'Saturday Morning' focus as opposed to 'literature'. We did Innsmouth with Snorks, for crying out loud.

Personally, if I were to do a LoEG I'd only use literary characters and they'd all be British, but that's because I'm a comics purist:)

Then you need Richard Jeperson - the man from the Diogenes Club. Or Fred Regent if you want an Everyman sort of chap.
Heh - I would take Sirius Black from the Potterverse - the Crown could pardon him for his crimes, after all.

I would add Sidney Bristow to the less-constrained list.
