Learning how to have an Email campaign

I have recently moved to a small town in Colorado and had to leave my gaming group behind. We want to continue with an email campaign and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the good ways to go about that. One of my concerns is how to administer combat.

I'd take a closer look to the "Playing the Game" forum on this site.

Play by Post works very similar to Play by E-Mail, really.
