Leave work early to peruse 3.5 books?

Should I leave work early to peruse my just-arrived 3.5 books?

  • No. You're not being paid to slack off.

  • Heck yeah! D&D 3.5 doesn't get released every day, y'know.

Should I leave work early to peruse my just-arrived 3.5 books? They are sitting on the corner of my desk in their brown cardboard shipping boxes, but I can feel that D&D aura seeping outwards, begging me to give in.

We are the Player's Handbook... Dungeon Master's Guide... Monster Manual... read us... read us... read us!

Doesn't anyone on these boards work for a living?

[Uh... I'm taking a break right now! Really! Quit looking at me like that!]

Which is the dark side?

Working as a mindless drone in a thankless position for bread crumbs?

Doing something that brings you great joy and is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity?

Oh, and I'm unemployed. Maybe I should have spent less time online at my last job...

Heh. My boss wouldn't even mind if I left early. The sad part is that I need the time to pay for those books that are waiting for me as I speak. Grrr. The war between want of books and need of money to pay for the coming bill is an evil one.

Just leave a half an hour early and speed.

Boy, it'd be nice to be able to take off, but I do have bills to pay for and food to put on the table.. ;) My wife has to work too, but we'll be going through the books tonight, and we both have Wednesday off.
