Leave work early to peruse 3.5 books?

Should I leave work early to peruse my just-arrived 3.5 books?

  • No. You're not being paid to slack off.

  • Heck yeah! D&D 3.5 doesn't get released every day, y'know.

  • Umm, aren't you slacking off right now by posting this?

What?!? Mr. OD&D is the only true game left work early to go read the 3.5 books?!? BTW, where'd you score a copy? I don't think I'll be able to pick anything up 'til Friday...

Sounds wonderful. But in this heavily recessed economy, with unemployment at the highest it's been in, what, 20 years, I wouldn't advise it.

:(

Heck, I remember the "good ol' days", not so long ago, when I could occasionally take a two-hour lunch break to have a, ahem, nooner with my girlfriend, only to end up not returning to work at all for the remainder of the day, without worrying about the security of my job.

I'm leaving work early on Friday (my FLGS expects them then) picking up one of my players (who's calling in sick from work just to pick up 3.5) and then heading over to the shop.

Do it. Give in to the dark-side. Just don't get caught.

I work the night shift at a really slow job, so I'm often bored, looking for something to do or read. So I get a lot of work done on my campaign, and read books.

(At the risk of you all hunting me down and killing me, I'll say that in essence...I will be getting paid to read the 3.5 books! Heh!) :p

Dude, that's a wonderful idea. Tell me more about these "nooners" - do you get a lot of gaming in? What sort of character does your girlfriend play? Who's the DM? :D

I actually saw the books in the store last Friday. But I have other RPG purchasing priorities, and will hold off buying them until I have some more spare cash...
