the new dragon magazine has this:

"Player's Handbook 3 Debut: The Monk
The monk is complete, and now D&D Insiders can get an exclusive look at the results of all the playtest feedback we’ve received since the class was first showcased last spring."

A month from dragon 381 releasing does the monk become legal? It isn't playtest, and it isn't preview, it's debut...

I hate typos; I dropped the 's' from 'planes'. It should read.Eberron has its own set of planes with some ties into the standard 4E cosmology (The Feywild is Thelanis, Mabar has elements of the Shadowfell, etc.). However, one doesn't fall from FR into Eberron, though one can fall into FR from just about anywhere (that is one of its precepts, after all).

While the planes have their own inhabitants, they generally have concerns outside of Eberron or to its detriment.

Oh good. As if the Feywild didn't exist, that would rather make Shanairra completely impossible, since her entire biography involved her stumbling into it, stuck there for years and then stumbling back out.

Edit: Though, if 1 day there is 1 week in Eberron, then Shanairra would likely be a very good deal older than I originally anticipated... unless I assume she was there a shorter time relative to her which extended into a longer time.

Unfortunately, Debut material is still not sanctioned. Once the PHB3 has been released, then you will be able to create a Monk. Until then, you will have to wait in anticipation like myself.

I was thinking about making a proposal, I was going to wait until PHB3, but I can get a general idea about it now. Somebody mentioned we are short on PCs. Why let people make a third PC? I realize that nobody has 2nd PCs yet, but they will soon enough. I have a couple reasons. PHB3 comes out in a few months. We could do 1 PC per PHB. Or(the method I prefer)let DMs buy a 3rd PC with DM points. It might increase the number of proposed adventures too.

Would people being allowed 3rd PC's generate 3 more PC's so Shanairra can um... do something? >.> If so, I wholeheartedly throw as many big lime green yeses as it takes to get it approved!

I am not quite sure, yet, how to vote on this one, however, the other judges have brought up some good points.

I believe that it is not so much a chicken and the egg situation as it is circular in both respects. I believe having more PCs running around will cause DMs to create more adventures to allow these PCs to have something to do. At the same time, if there ARE no PCs running around, but there are DMs that have approved adventures ready to go, my belief is that players will want to create more characters to run in these adventures.

I am leaning towards a "no" right now, simply because none of us have yet to see a second PC, and won't for at least another three or four months, I think... (I could be wrong on this), but at the same time, we should be looking ahead.

For me, this all comes down to one thing... When all of the LEB players have TWO PCs running around, will LEB have enough PCs? I think the problem may lie with the fact that we have such a small player base, and that this player base has an even smaller DM base. Most (if not all) of the DMs over here in LEB also DM or play over in L4W as well, so having the current DMs run more adventures may not be an applicable answer (especially for you, Renau1g... don't you have like, 6 adventures running between LEB and L4W?) to the problem.

What we need to do, is go all caveman style over in L4W, bonk a few players over the head and drag them over to LEB for playing and DMing ^_^

@Kalidrev, I'm not interested in becoming a monk. (Just not a striker...) What my goal was, to establish the precedent for the debut material one way or another.

So people don't go all excited over the non-preview/non-playtest, monk.

We can have as many players as we want, but without DMs, its moot. Talking about 3 characters is way to premature at this point, methinks.

Probably, if no one has 2nd characters yet. But... I do hope more players stroll by soon. Or that an opening appears in an adventure. Or someone shows up in the tavern. >.>
