LEB Discussion Thread '09

So I was thinking for when I get to make a second character making a Cleric, any suggestions for what to use build wise?

Personally I'm a fan of melee ones myself, battle-cleric of The Sovereign Host. We have a fair number of ranged PC's (in mine & Evo's game) so more melee support wouldn't be bad.

Take a look at Kamotz, I like his build really well for melee. However you'd have to adjust the ability scores for LEB.

I suspect all the cleric builds are really strong. There was a laser cleric in the game I ran, and he was able to kick out an impressive amount of healing and utility, no matter how hard I tried to kill him. And a nice thing about the laser cleric is that you can pick up any good pacifist powers you like, as well as having a more focused stat-line. Also, you become like unto a god whenever you go up against undead.

Dang, I want to make a laser cleric now.

I love River, my Pacifist Cleric, an hard core pacifist. His only damaging power, an at-will, he never used it yet and will use it only in dire need, which never happen from his point of view.

But a laser cleric can easily pick in the pacifist powers, Radtash is a good example and seems to work well.

Am I allowed to make a character the venerates The Fury, as long as the character in question isn't Evil?

I don't see a problem with it as long as it doesn't step on the toes of the setting or keep anyone else from doing what they want to do with their characters. There are several characters over in L4W who are not exactly walking on the light side (*cough* Palindrome *cough* Atreus *cough* Woe *cough*), so I don't see why that couldn't apply over here as well. Even bad people do good things for the wrong reasons some times :p

My stance on evil characters is to remember that there are other people playing the game with you, and while your character doesn't need to be courteous, you should be. Strife should be between characters, not players.

That's my fancy way of saying that I am fine with your idea.

You can worship it w/o being evil, just not likely being good.

As an example, several monstrous races (minotaurs) or some particullary unsavory humans might follow her due to their ties to wrath or overwhelming passion. As the ECG says
Eberron Campaign Guide said:
(Q)uite a few perfectly rational beings also devote themselves to the Dar Six... The followers of the Dark Six are not necissarily evil or even violent (although many are). Rather, they have come to believe... that that powers of the capricious wild are superior to those of civilization.
Just avoid evil disruptive characters or those that go beyond Grandma's rule.

Worshiping the Fury without breaking the grandma rule is hard. :)

But overall I'm focusing this character on revenge, and madness
