[Legend] Beta - Rule of Cool Gaming

Greetings, gentlemen.

The Legend RPG has nearly reached completion. The crunch is all basically laid down now, and all we lack is some fluff and artwork. I invite you to look at the beta and give feedback.

1. Does the GM have to be a human?
2. There are a lot of cool new abilities, I can't think of something specific, but it might be worth giving an explanation of how the abilities come to be, such as why the Paladin's mercy works, beyond it's mechanical function. That's just my two cents for now, i'm still reading it. As someone who loves studying RPG design, I have to say this is really beautiful

You know Mongoose has just changed the name of their previously-known-as-Runequest II game from Wayfarer to Legend, right?

It's much more balanced. I found myself missing some of my favorite startegies, when I remembered they were the kinds of strategies that DMs hate, such as removing Alter Self/Polymorph/Change Shape, so the game allows for a lot of variety, and while optimizers will make the most of it, it would be a lot harder to put the classes into the infamous tier system. Just curious, but what about TWFing caused you to decide to give up even tweaking it?

Of course not! Rule of Cool Gaming is a pro-diversity gaming group that encourages the non-humans among us to participate in the tabletop experience no matter how many tentacles they possess.

Just curious, but what about TWFing caused you to decide to give up even tweaking it?

Balancing it apparently caused the development team massive headaches. It's still in there, in a fashion. For example, if you use two daggers, you can treat them mechanically as a greatsword.

They changed it from Wayfarer because the game Wayfarers was already in print - and in fact they're now planning to distribute it. I doubt they'd change again from Legend.
