Legend of the Seeker?

Hi Folks. So, I'm watching Friday night Smackdown over at the CW, when I saw the promo for this new show called "Legend of the Seeker"
It looked pretty cool. :) Has anyone heard anything else about this show...the promo was vague, but interesting.

As already pointed out, this show is based off of a fantasy novel series by Terry Goodkind, "The Sword of Truth". They are pretty popular, but I stopped reading after the third book or so. The first book, "Wizard's First Rule" is incredibly awesome. But the next few books where simply the same plot with a different bad guy, and got boring. Later books in the series may have overcome this, I don't know.

There doesn't seem to be much info on the new tv show out there, but from what I have seen it looks very promising. Visit

Legend Of The Seeker

to see from neat promos and some cast pics. The two leads are good actors but relative unknowns. The wizard Zedd is portrayed by Bruce Spence, who has a long history of short but fun roles from Mad Max to the Matrix to Star Wars (prequels) to Lord of the Rings and more. Spence is fun to watch and a good pic for Zedd (a great character).

It starts on ABC Nov. 1st. In Idaho it is generally getting crappy timeslots, which isn't a good sign . . . not so much on the quality of the series, but the network's faith in it. I'll be there, hoping for a new awesome fantasy tv series!

I thought the first book was excellent, the second about as good as the first, the third not so much, the fourth was a little more interesting, but then I haven't really enjoyed much of the books after that. After the fourth, it almost seemed like he was losing focus on everything and decided that in this huge war, every single little battle location was going to have an entire like 700 page book.

BUT, as disinterested in the series after the fourth book I have become, I am still interested in this series if only because I enjoyed the first couple of books and it is of the correct genre to make me watch it. :)

It may be on an ABC affiliate in Idaho but it is not an ABC series. It is Syndicated so each local area will be different. Check the website above as they have a zip code search that will tell you what local time and chanel it will be on. It will also be carried by WGN for those with cable.
