"...each booster pack allows Dungeon Masters run a ready-to-play D&D® encounter right out of the box!"

This is news to me. Will there be an adventure inside? How this will be random?

It's interesting that the paragraph description mentions an encounter, but the list of contents doesn't mention anything.

Pure speculation, but my guess is that their might be an encounter for each of the non-random minis, each boxed with the appropriate mini.

The D&D gameday had gotten me thinking about how much I would like the opportunity to pay for “an adventure in a box”. Essentially a box you can buy that has everything a semi-experienced DM (ie: has read the PHB/DMG but is not seasoned) would need to run a night of adventures for players of any skill level. In some ways they’ve done this with dungeon delve, but something that includes the tiles/maps, minis, adventure booklet and premade character sheets (“advanced” versions might forego premade characters to lower the price point). I think a problem with the existing “Starter” set is that it lacks wide appeal. Ideally the product should also lend itself to eventual cannibalization as part of a larger collection of minis and tiles/maps.

As an example, magic “starter sets” are not a horrible purchase for new-ish or lapsed players looking to build their land count, and the “duel decks” are premade-ready-to-go, but could also be broken up for the individual cards.

This sounds like a fairly good idea.

People have been wanting a correlation between released adventures and mini sets, but Wizards says that this is a logistical nighmare, as the minis have very long production time and queue.

Making scenarios for the mini sets, instead of making minis for the adventures, could be a way to circumvent that.
