Erik Mona in a recent thread remarked that he was willing to give (more or less) Carte Blanche to Gary in shaping out the continent in the middle (just to the west of the Flanaess), but Gary has too many prior commitments to accept such a project.

That's one way of putting it, I guess, actual details may vary.

What this means to us is, if you want details on other parts of Oerth, you can use fan based material (like the excellent series on the lands south of the Sea of Dust by TalMeta, on canonfire, www.canonfire.com). If, otoh, you feel that only Gygax can do the setting details, well, you're SOL, as they say.
