D&D General Legends of Greyhawk: anyone talking about this at all?

I was in a discussion about organized play and the new successor to Adventurer’s League came up, “Legends of Greyhawk” that was announced with much fanfare in July.
Since GenCon, I haven’t seen any threads about it. I didn’t hear any real buzz about it during or after the convention, as most of the excitement was around the new starter set and upcoming sourcebooks, or with Critical Role, Daggerheart etc.

Is it a tree that fell in the forest with nobody around?

Did anyone play it? How was it? Do you think it has potential?

All I’ve heard are crickets. Which is by itself remarkable, but not in a good way.

It’s supposed to hit wider availability in 2026 from memory. It’s mostly exclusive to conventions right now.

I almost got to DM it, but I couldn’t make the convention in Canada in the end.

It's very new, and at the moment it's very much about conventions which have run a lot of organised D&D having a new thing that (probably) suits their organisations better than the AL they've been running until now. So it's only significant for Gen Con, Gamehole, PAX, etc attendees right now.

There are ways to play online - Baldman Games run adventures at their monthly Virtual D&D Weekends (September 2025 Virtual D&D Weekend), West Coast Adventurers Guild has an October online con (Dice Online Games) and there's 'Iuzual Suspects' in late October (Iuzual Suspects 1 - Lordship of Isles)

I'm looking forward to a campaign that's less closely connected to WotC marketing - many of the AL challenges stemmed from its link to the hardcover releases. I've played the first two Hommlet-area adventures and enjoyed them both. I hope availability for small events, game days, and game stores happens relatively early in 2026.

Baldman Games is fully transitioning to Legends of Greyhawk for their VDDWs with AL games only on requests. They're running the two tracks debuted at Cons this year (Ferrond & Domain of Greyhawk), and in November they're introducing the Highfolk track on VDDW first. I've played the first two adventures for Ferrond (Hommlet and Nulb) plus Emridy Meadows, and they were great.

LoG actually debuted officially at GenCon, with the Domain of Greyhawk track introduced there. Right now, the only PO that's offering LoG online on frequent basis is Baldman, with the other virtual-con offerings being single events only.

A list of some of the places LoG is playing that we know about.

This Weekend! QuestCon Orlando Lordship of Isles Premiere. - This just wrapped up and was by all accounts a great time. Very piratey. (I am biased as our con (Iuzual Suspects) is running this content too!
  • Dice Online 10/10/25 Wild Coast Premiere. The WCAG folks are putting this on. I personally am very excited, some BIG names on the writer staff if you pay attention to AL writers and LG writers.
  • Iuzual Suspects 10/24/2025. Online convention (again biased its our con) most of the DMs are folks you'll know from BMG. T
  • Weekend in Highfolk 11/7 - 11/9 Highfolk Premiere. This is BMG's dedicated online region. Should be a really good time for all. I strongly encourage everybody that plays online to check it out.
  • PAX Unplugged 11/21/2025,
  • PAGE 1/5/2026,
  • Comic-Con the Cruise 1/30/2026
  • Winter Fantasy 2/5/2026
  • Dice Tower West 3/11/2026,
  • GaryCon 3/19/2026 Urnst Premiere,
  • PAX East 3/26/2026,
  • WonderCon 3/27/2026 Bandit Kingdoms Premiere,
  • Origins 6/17/2026 New Wave of Ferrond,
  • SDCC 7/23/2026,
  • Gencon 7/30/2026 New Wave of Domain of Greyhawk,
  • DragonCon 9/3/2026,
  • PAX West 9/4/2026

As far as LoG generally, if you are familiar with organized play, you get the gist. If you are familiar with current AL, its a lot of the same stuff but lower magic and not as fast leveling speed. If you are looking for some solid D&D fun using the 2024 ruleset and and organized play with not a ton of paperwork, you should give it a try. There are 3 pretty decently sized online cons between now and the new year and if you need any help getting set up, the folks on the BMG discord server are phenominal.
