First Post
Following on from the success of its popular Critical Hits™ product line, Legion Publishing is pleased to announce the release of the first in the Wondrous Lands™ series of d20 setting books. Each title introduces a complete fantasy locale including maps, history, inhabitants, and encounters.
Nexelan: Island Necropolis, written by Rob Clayton Jones and available for download from RPGNow.com, details the barren isle of the damned, once the undersea capital of the dypsinoan civilization. Long ago, in a cataclysmic eruption, the volcano, which now dominates Nexelan, exploded and the whole seabed was lifted by the seismic activity. The great city of the dypsinoans was devastated and the race doomed.
Now, the island is an unforgiving place, haunted by the restless dead. And yet, it holds the riches of the lost dypsinoans in the tall coral spires, while pirates and treasure seekers often talk of the missing explorer Crispin Duggan – rumoured to have vanished in the island’s morbid mists. It seems there is wealth aplenty for adventurers who can survive Nexelan’s many dangers.
This 94-page .pdf is packed with background information, new races, additional rules and a series of deadly encounters. Extensively bookmarked, and illustrated throughout by Jim Branch, Nexelan boasts rules for the wild weather effects that plague Nexelan’s hostile shores, and expanded swimming and diving guidelines necessary to handle the inevitable underwater adventure around this isle of the dead.
Robin Elliott, Legion’s Operations Manager, says, “Nexelan has been a labour of love for us and we have worked hard to get all the elements in place for a great series of setting books. We are looking forward to the next in the line, The Temple of Celestial Wisdom, due in late July.”
Legion Publishing’s next product will be the first in a series of Mission Books based on Pinnacle Entertainment’s Weird Wars II d20 rules. Legion has acquired the rights to support all Pinnacle Entertainment and Great White Games products and further details of Legion’s release schedule can be found at www.legionpublishing.co.uk.
