Underdark-Quest :The Vault of Larin Karr, Cont
Manny's, the little brownie's, spear jabs lightning fast . . once, twice . . inflicting a deep puncture but missing with the second thrust. Manny's blow is a telling one, but the spider continues to advance, crawling towards Manny and impaling itself on the spear more as it crawls up the shaft! Relós, stunned by the gall of the spider, bares fangs and snaps viciously at a leg, crunching noisily through the exoskeleton, then, heartened by his success, turns slightly and munches into the spider's thorax, killing it. Tylara takes advantage of her magically enhanced speed to stab at both the spiders attacking her. She stabs both with well aimed thrusts of her sword, scoring an exceptionally telling skewer against one of the hungry arachnids, the one to her right (S4), and its legs curl beneath it as it dies. The other spider Ty faces (S5) is not very injured at all. Then, suddenly, Kerlan utters words of power, and a torrent of rocks falls from the ceiling of the cavern, the missiles striking three of the spiders (S4,5,6) for some telling damage. (Tylara had just slain S4, but the rocks pound its body further into oblivion.) And, more importantly, the lightly injured spider that Ty nicked with her sword clearly had its bell rung by the falling rocks and now looks mighty shaky! Meanwhile, Francheska has her hands full with three spiders at the moment, two before her and one behind. Luckily for her, the spider to her rear was the recipient of some crushing damage from Kerlan's rocks which almost half killed it. Francheska elects to attack the spider to her left (S7) with her bright sword, hitting it once and missing once. (S7 - 17 hp - 8 damage = 9 hp)

S3 - dead
S4 - dead
S5 - 1 hp XX - Ty kills in #514
S6 - 11 hp
S7 - 9 hp
S8 - 16 hp
The four surviving spiders viciously attack the wizards again, S5 biting at Tylara, S6 biting at the back of Francheska's legs (mistakenly said Ty in die roll), S7 biting at Kerlan, and S8 biting at Frannie's face! Tylara is bitten (11hp dam) and feels the spider's venom enter her body (DC 13 Fort save). Francheska is hit by both spiders attacking her (S6 and S8) and takes a total of 14 hp of damage and feels torrents of venom fighting its way into her bloodstream! (Two DC 13 Fort saves). Kerlan's opposing spider is clumsy this time and fals to connect. Wizards are up again.
The map is right except that Spiders 1 and 4 should have lines through them, because you can stick a fork in them --- THEY'RE DONE! I'll put a corrected version in a later post anyway.

OOC: Tylara' missed Saving Throw means she suffers 1d6 Temp Strength Loss as rolled below. Still need two DC 13 Fort saves for Francheska!
Corrected map as promised (to show which spiders are still alive). All wizards but Tylara, whose action is in the last post, are up!

OOC: Post #515 has been updated and the map changed to reflect accurately which spiders are deceased. Tylara having just acted, the rest of the wizards are up.And actually, Scotley, the spiders are only AC 14, so Ty got two hits this round! Roll me some more damage, please.
OOC: Never mind Scotley -- the only spider Ty can reach from her position is S5, and it only had one hp remaining, so Tylara's "weak" blow was its coup de grace.
The three largest spiders are still alive and surrounding Francheska!

Manny clambers over the spider bodies between him and his friends, followed closely by Relós. The little Brownie stabs out in a desperate lunge as he closes, sinking his tiny spear deep into the tough hide. Relós also closes quickly and chomps down on another delicious spider leg!
