Les Miserables

I'm really keen to see this. I'm a huge musicals fan and have done a lot of amateur (and one professional) shows. This is one of my favourites - seen it, um, three or four times in London.

A friend of mine appears as an extra. Given the photos he showed me of him in costume I'm going to be hard pressed to recognise him!

Fingers crossed they get this right. It does have a very theatrical, straight-to-the-audience final song that might be tricky to make work on screen. We'll have to see how they handle it.

Looks really well cast for acting and singing to me. Still, probably not a big screen film, IMO, and I'll have to see it on DVD come March/April 2013 or so. We'll see.
