Back on topic, what other figures are there that are widely available and useful as generic human mooks? I got a bunch of "Sky Reavers" and "Doomguard" recently that make great bandits/brigands/pirates. A lot of the nicer mook-type minis seem to be quite rare though, at least in the UK. Our prices are at least 50% higher than US, too - when I went to the US in April I had auggies deliver me a huge pack of cheap minis, I think the Troglodyte Brawlers were 20 cents each.

There are quite a few options out there. Here are the human mooks in my collection:
Shieldwall Soldier (War Drums): An excellent general-purpose soldier. Use for legionaries, town guards, and other footmen.
Free League Ranger (Blood War): Good for archers and rangers.
Barbarian Mercenary (Dragoneye): Use for barbarian warriors and clan swordsmen. A bit pricey for mooks, though.
Human Rabble (Legendary Evils): Ideal for low-level bandits, revolting peasants, and back alley scum. These are selling fast; if you see a chance to snag some for cheap, grab 'em right away. The site linked above had 18 in stock yesterday. Today they're all gone, a fact for which I am partly responsible.
Doom Dreamer (Legendary Evils): An excellent "crazed cultist" mini.
Blood of Vol Fanatic (Desert of Desolation): Another very good "crazed cultist," this one is suitable for more primitive or violent cults. Can also double as the high prest for a bunch of Doom Dreamers.

I think it's quite clear I know what pedantry is...No, it means "criticize harshly." I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole, which means "extravagant exaggeration." And now I'm engaging in pedantry, which means... okay, I'll stop.
Thanks Dausuul - I considered the Shieldwall Soldier but I didn't like the kneeling & the big shield, could easily look out of place. Those Human Rabble seem mighty scarce, yup! Most of the others I have, but not the Doom Dreamer - I might get a few of those but I already have a nice set of 8 or so green-robed Serpent Cultists. I have 2 Free League Rangers, but might be worth picking up another 6, it's a nice mini.

The Search button to locate individual minis is low on the left. It works well, unlike many small retailers.
They're not the cheapest, their prices generally start at 75p, some other UK retailers start at ca 50p. But they have a pretty good web storefront, good selection in stock, and efficient service.
Here's the figure I modified to make generic human soldiers:

Depends - eg for a ghoul pack I bought 6. For soldiers, 8 or 10 is good for a squad. Sky Reavers I got 8; Doomguard 6.
