So at first glance, I see 7 threads at the top of page 1 that have to do with 5e. Maybe there are more, I didn't check.

Do you think people will start talking about 6e the day that 5e is released? I secretly hope that I get to be the first person to start up a 6e thread that day.

By the time 7e comes out, will physical books even exist or will they go totally electronic?

Do you think WotC will still own 8e or will Milton Bradley own it by then?

I think that when 9e comes out, it will focus less on miniatures and more on live action role playing.

Will saying, "Do you play tennie (10e)?" sound as lame then as it does now?

I bet the logo for 11e will be two scimitars as each of the ones digits as a homage to Drizzt.

I do plan on playing D&D even when my children move me into a nursing home. I will warn you now, if any of you guys say a damn thing about OD&D while I'm trying to DM my 12e game, I will put my teeth back in and bite you.

They'll probably have to just skip all of the teen editions and go straight to 20e. Cause really, who wants to say "teeny" for 7 editions?

After 20 editions and all of the other RPG systems out there, will there finally be enough rules systems for everyone to enjoy or will we need to move on to 21e and up for some guys that still aren't satisfied?

If the OP were dated July 2008, I'd probably agree. With an announcement of 5e by all indications eminent, and EN World being the premiere D&D news site, not so much... B-)

Good luck with that, Oryan77. I've posted similar questions in the lead up to 4e. There seems to be a large segment of the ENWorld population that perpetually has that "new shiny" syndrome.

It's like a kid getting a birthday present, playing with it for 5 minutes, and then saying "what I want next year is....".
