Now that it is out in the open that Hasbro expects $50 Million profits yearly from each brand, I think discussion of their upcoming revenue garnering plans is always a VERY good idea.Do you think people will start talking about 6e the day that 5e is released?

I agree with this. I don't think the discussions have anything to do with people wanting the "new shiny". There was some serious fracturing in the D&D fanbase after 4e came out and I think WOTC feels that bringing Monte back to ruminate and float thoughts and ideas out there may help better discover a way to bring back the old fanbase and still please the new. You can't blame them for trying and I think that it's good for the D&D brand to start discussions early. If the OP were dated July 2008, I'd probably agree. With an announcement of 5e by all indications eminent, and EN World being the premiere D&D news site, not so much...![]()
Would this be a bad thing? So why not discuss it?

OK, admittedly, there doesn't need to be 7 threads. But if they are discussing different specific aspects or wishes with regards to 5e and people didn't want to derail other threads, I don't see an issue with it.Discussing 5e is not the issue. That's understandable. But does there need to be seven threads related to the discussion of an edition that is not out, nobody is playing it, and may not be released any time soon, if at all?
