Lately, the last couple of DND sessions I've played have been in the vein of a duet style with one bud and I. And with my other two buds, it's been hard to get a session in as a group due to work schedules and what not.
Since I plan on dming more to get some practice, I want to use the follower rules in my regular 5E games for more duet sessions where I dm a duet style session for a few of my friends. The followers will be used for the more mundane/regular NPCs while I'll use the Retainer rules from Flee, Mortals for named/unique/important NPC companions.
Beowulf: Age of Heroes seems like a great thing to cherry pick from. Perhaps I'll get it for my bday next month.
