I am amazed by it every time I use it. I used to think that D&D Beyond was a platform worth $160M, how could a tiny company do anything like that? But Gateway is as slick as DDB! I can't take credit, because I'm not a coder, and I'm not personally making it (thanks Alex!) But, wow, is it slick and impressive!

I just gave it a go. The interface is very good. Some stuff outside of LUA5E core not included, unsurprisingly, but it is quite impressive. Thank you!

Hey @Morrus I was fiddling a bit with the gateway and it's really great! I have a couple of questions regarding expertise dice:

• if a character has expertise dice on a skill due to a specialization, is there a way to add it automatically to a roll by clicking somewhere? Or should I just roll the appropriate dice manually?
• similarly: a character with a heavy shield would gain an expertise dice on dex saves. I tried rolling dex saves with such a shield on but no expertise dice was being added, should it be rolled manually?

Yes. Right click on the skill. You can choose expertise dice, advantage, etc.

Most things like that should be added automatically. If it's not, that's a mission for the bug report form!

(Of course you can right click on saves to get the same menu as above.

I was looking for information on the Gateway website for the goals for this but couldn't find any. Is there somewhere I could read on what is intended for this character builder? Is it mostly in its final form right now, or are there other capabilities that are planned?

Yes, as I said in my post, I looked at the Gateway website and didn't find anything about the overall design goals for what parts will be needed in order to be feature complete. I looked again after your post and still could find any post/article/document with details of the intended features.
