First of all thanks for the replies,
tehnically, you cant be effective in cleric anythig above lvl 3- cause you have only a 13 wis (unless magic item- but those are very iffy- cant cast lvl 4 spells in any antimagic field or anything that suppresses magic items..) but there are a bunch of lvl 3 spells that are killer - and heals help too....
yep I know that, in the current campaign RttToEE I don't expect this character to get beyond 14th lvl. So I may be lucky even to see 3rd level spells

even so I can increase my WIS to 14 at 12th lvl.
My suggestion is to go with the Luck and Travel domains. Even though the Travel domain's ability is level-dependant, just one or two rounds of freedom can still get you out of a tight spot. And the Luck domain's reroll ability is very handy.
Yep, I finally settled on Farlanghan. As someone pointed out I wont be a high lvl Cleric so the level dependant abilities wont be much use. However luck and travel are cool.
dazm: Let us know the party make up. For instance, are there any other clerics or druids? Are you the main up-front fighter? I get the feeling that your game doesn't focus on RPing too much, as you don't have a deity but want to take a level of cleric.
The group consists of me Fighter 7, Monk 7, 1/2 orc Barbarian 7, Rogue/Sorceror 2/6 and a 1/2 elf Bard 8.
We don't role play as much as I would like, and as I said in my original post this is our first 3E game. I feel that I have advanced as far as I can with the fighter I have chosen and would like a change. The cleric is the only class open to me with the abilities and equitment I already posses.
So a cleric of Farlanghan it is and I will will plan the advancement of my next PC a little more carefully next time.
cheers
