Though it lacks the implaccable mass of its elders, the young ice paraelemental charges the dwarf, attempting to push him out of the arena (bull rush).

The dwarf takes an AoO as the paraelemental enters the dwarf's square. Misses!

The paraelemental is rebuffed! (Rolled 5+4 for dwarf = 9 vs. 6+2 for charge-4 for small = 4)

The paraelemental ends up at 60N5E.

Round 62:

The dwarf 5 foot steps to 55N5E and hacks. Missed! (Rolled 12)

Urg. I forgot dwarves count as medium critters. Oh well, there was always a chance - it just didn't favor the paraelemental this time.

There's no subtlety between a stubborn dwarf and an elemental being - especially since the dwarf isn't wearing metal (though that is only an assumption).

So it's smash-n-bash until one or the other drops.

Time compression ON!

The dwarf is wearing scale mail, which is metal armor.

Icy misses. (Rolled 5)

Round 63: Dwarf misses, Icy hits for 4+3 cold = 7. Dwarf has 2 hp left.

Round 64: Dwarf hits for 7, Icy misses. Icy has 2 hp left.

Round 65: Dwarf misses, Icy hits for 3+2 cold = 5. Dwarf has -3 hp and drops.

Round 66: The dwarf is defeated!

Next up for LG: a homunculus. (MM)

The homunculus goes first in round 66.

The homunculus enters at 115N0E0H, and climbs to 55N15E50H.

Grr. Always check your assumptions. I had assumed the glacier dwarf was wearing leather or hide armor. Of course, the dwarf probably had energy resistance(cold), but I shouldn't have assumed it. Ah well. This one's probably going to be short.

Ehh. Surprisingly enough, my 16th-level party doesn't fly much, and have generally been able to ground their few aerial opponents one way or another. So I just mistakenly calaculated a staight distance. I'll refresh my rules on aerial movement. (Actually, annoying as it may be, that is one of the benefits I'm gaining from this - a rules refresh.)

OK, the end point is 55N15E35H, and the entry point is 85N0E0H.

The homunculus doesn't want any icicles - or rather, it understands that icicles only exist to look pretty and convey maple sugar to one's mouth. Since the paraelemental isn't offering maple sugar, the homunculus isn't interested.

Realizing the paraelemental is weakened, the homunculus decides to risk a power dive (normal charge) and attack its opponent.
