Pffeifffer hears her talking, but it sounds strange, like her voice is coming from two different places, but both places seem to be somewhere above Pffiefffer in the same general area he is in.

Pffiefffer moves to 90n 90e 20z and listens to try and get a bearing.

Round 296: She is about 10 feet above you and about 25 feet to the southwest. Pffiefffer realizes that the reason her speaking is coming from two different places is that her voice is bouncing back and forth between the Material and Ethereal Planes.

A swarm of bats appears at 60N60E20Z in the Ethereal Plane (so spectators do not see them). Pffiefffer hears the woman fly past him, with the swarm following. The bats stop when they get to 85N85E20Z and start chewing on Pffiefffer, who takes 3 points of damage from the many tiny bites. Pffiefffer has 5 HP remaining. Pffiefffer thinks the woman went toward the northeast corner of the arena. Pffiefffer is first in round 297.

Pffiefffer figures he's outclassed by this invisible spell-tosser, so he moves straight down to 90n 90e -40z, then heads SW until he reaches the edge of the arena in succeeding rounds (in case he's chased on the Ethereal) and waits out the draw.

Just when the invisible spell-tosser was having fun. I am not even going to try the chase on the Ethereal, because you cannot see through the ground, even when on the Ethereal. The sylph was able to avoid the swarm before it disappeared.

A draw is declared after round after round 301.

Yaj (yet another Jack the Bodiless) floats into the arena to 60N0E30Z. He will await the next combatant.

A large (and I mean large) bat-winged hornet flies into the arena to 60N50E30Z. Buzz buzz. Yaj is first in round 303.

Yaj wants to make it into the Hall of Fame recordbooks, so fly to 60N30E30Z and perform a maximum mind blast, overchanneling as necessary.

Round 303: Taj blasts the hornet (rolled Will save 8 vs. DC 23) for 34 points of brain damage. Taj makes the Hall of Fame!

The bad news is that Taj takes 5 points of damage from the backlash. The hornet has 6 HP remaining, and Taj has 17 HP and 16 PP remaining.

The hornet flies up next to Taj and tries to sting (rolled 22), but its sting goes right through Taj.
