Mak, who usually likes sleeping during the day more than during the night, accept the Impressario's offer and follows him into the council room.

"I'd like to see those ancient coins if at all possible" asks the young imp, "Did the halfings stole them from the city treasury, or from elsewhere? I n the latter case, it could prove interesting to find a place with such an historical importance."

"Yes, I was born and trained in the priestly ways here. "
"Ah yes, that's why I recognize you. Your a disciple of master Hazen, the head priest?"

Jayle re-enters the room soon after your words, and is once again sent out to fetch some of the foriegn gold. "You know, I'm honestly not sure. Sir Regis papers seem to state that this money was stolen from the treasury, but why would the treasury hold this kind of coinage? I have no real idea myself, I'm sure someone will get to the bottom of it, however, and it's a serious concern. Strange things have been happening recently."

The Impressario is, Impressed. He gets the vibe from Krindor that there may be something disturbing going on in her head, and he comes up to question her.

"My dear lady, by what chance would something foul have disturbed you? You are obviously a strong bladeswoman, but of what nature has your mind been shaken?"

Krindor bows to the Impressario.
"My lord, my mind is at a loss for an answer. Would it be right for a paladin to disobey a direct order from her superior if she found the cause just?"

"Lord? No, you do not understand my position. I'm a knight, not a lord. The two are distinctly different here."

"What exactly is the predicament? I always thought a Paladin's code of conduct was to do everything possible to make the world the safest and most good place possible. I would think it is correct, and proper, to do everything in your power to accomplish good, so long as it does not aid evil. But, what, exactly, is the problem? I'm sorry if it insults you, I may have a rather 'strange' perspective on the holy warriors. I have simplified them too much for you, no? It must be quite the war to keep oneself on the straight and narrow."

"No, I do not find your words insulting.
The problem is that Captain of Guard, lady Jane Saraphin, has imprisoned a young lady. She says that the lady is a nymph or a half-nymph, but the girl denies it. My personal feeling is that she shouldn't be kept prisoner, nymph or not. Lady Jane has, however, given me orders not to see the girl again. So I am at a loss, to follow my orders or to follow my heart.
The Code tells me to follow the orders of legitimate authority, of which Lady Jane is a representative of, and also to help innocent, as which I see the girl."

" Would you mind staying around for two or three more hours, we will provide you with a council room, food, and some coffee. I realize, it is very late and you may wish for sleep, but I live for the night, to defend and protect, and your company would be a welcome change of pace."
After the blizzard of information which Brawn only partially groks (the discussion being an environment/context he's not familiar with), his eyes glaze over during the discussion and he enters a Saurial trance, expanding his sense of smell and thought until the offer of food comes.

Brawn comes to quickly at the offer : "Oh, please - some food would be wonderrrful!
LOTS of it.
Fighting down therrre is awfully hungerrr-causing worrrk.

And a nice warrrm bed would be nice afterrr all the uprrroarrr and dangerrr down therrre... I tend to get sleepy when it gets cold." ( <--lizardfolk accent is back)

"Would you be interested in interrogating the scoundrel we took captive to learn something about the provenance of these coins? Maybe you have some way to ascertain he speaks the truth? and what do you mean by 'strange things'?"
